The Presence Project

The Presence Project is an ongoing collection and personal archive of small moments captured on video, each one a testament to the act of being present. In our hurried world, where moments blend into a blur of activities and distractions, the Presence Project serves as a repository of mindfulness, a pause in the relentless flow of time.

At its core is the practice of beginner's mind – an invitation to see the world with fresh eyes, to experience each moment for the first time, stripping away preconceptions and expectations, allowing the simplicity and beauty of the present to unfold and reveal itself in its fullness.

Each video in the archive represents a moment of conscious absorption, a point in time where I felt fully present, engaged with the reality of the immediate. These are not grandiose events or spectacular sceneries; rather, they are simple, often overlooked instances that weave in and out of our daily lives. A leaf stuck to the side of a fence, sloshing through a rain puddle, an accordion playing cat in Seattle – each video is a portal to the richness of the now.

The Presence Project is a reminder to pause, breathe, and connect with the present. It encourages viewers to cultivate their own practice of mindfulness, to appreciate the beauty in the simplicity of the moment they are in. By sharing these videos, I hope to inspire a collective awakening to the depth and richness of our everyday experiences, to express deep and profound gratitude and to foster a world where we are all more present, aware, and alive.
